and the work continues....

So, the kitchen work continued. We realized that all the drawer guides had to be replaced. Not the metal slides, but the plastic piece that holds it to the cabinet. We realized that over the course of our home's 20+ year history, the plastic had become brittle. Previous owners had "repaired" them using a mix of staples, folded cardboard and other misc. household items. (no house pride I guess!)

Of course, Home Depot did not carry what we needed. Ace hardware did and they had 336 in stock (we needed 9). Of course they stock is stored in Prescott Valley. They ordered the parts for us and were supposed to have them in the store by Tues.

Our countertops were being installed on Wed. so it was important that we repair the drawer slides by Tues, when there was easier access because of the lack of countertop. Everything went well and Mark was able to make the repairs Tues night.

The Corian countertops were installed, sanded and polished. You cannot even tell there are seams. The kitchen is really starting to take shape, as you can see by the pictures.
